User Creation

The institute admin can manually create the accounts for new managers and new inventors.

Create a new account

1. Click the Users (Admin) button.
2. Click the Add User button and input the essential information (such as name, email, and role).
3. Press the Activate button and the new users will receive the user creation email with an initialized password.

You can reset your password within the system's settings after logging in.

If you forget your password, you can utilize our "Forgot Password" function, which is conveniently located on the homepage.

User Roles in Enterprise IPMS

In our Enterprise Intellectual Property Management System (IPMS), we offer a streamlined and collaborative environment for different user roles. There are three primary user roles within our system:

1. Admin

• Role Description: The Admin is the primary system administrator responsible for overseeing the IP-related office and managing the eIPMS.

• Permissions:

  • Access to all records of IP, patents, agreements, and other intellectual property assets.
  • Full control over system settings and configurations.
  • Only the Admin can control user management and create accounts for managers and inventors.

2. Manager

• Role Description: Managers are dedicated staff members within the IP-related office who are responsible for managing multiple IP assets.

• Permissions:

  • Access to all published IP assets within the organization.
  • Access to their relevant IP assets that are created or managed by them.
  • Collaborate with Inventors and other Managers.

3. Inventor

• Role Description: Inventors are the creative minds behind intellectual properties, which may include professors, students, and other contributors. They are intimately familiar with the details of the IP assets they've created. We can create many inactive inventors to manage IP relationships.

• Permissions:

  • Access to their relevant IP assets only (cannot see the patent, agreement, or other materials).
  • Submission of newly created IP assets to any Manager within the institute.
  • Collaborate with Managers for IP asset management.
